Tingimento Natural

For us, the choice for Natural Dyeing on our garments brings a new perspective on fashion and territory.

Our productive process é based on this ground and land, on the embroibery, on the sew and on the plants que taint our fabrics.

The dyeing process is manual. On the warmth and tenderness of this ancestral process the magic is born. Behind our natural dyeing process, there is a wide reasearch on tainting plants that are native to out biome, Caatinga. Our suppliers are Family farming people that besides protecting and preserving species, also support knowledge of their medicines.

OUR COLORS

THESE SAMPLES OF DYED INK WERE TAKEN IN A COLLAB WITH PLANT SPECIALIST TATIANA POLO. THE RAW MATERIAL WAS COLLECTED IN INGÁ, BASED IN BODOPITÁ MOUNTAIN, IN PARAIBA, THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, 2020. THE HARVEST OF NATURAL MATERIAL IN A REGION SO BIODIVERSE ALLOWED THE DEVELOPMENT OF UNIQUES COLORS. THE RESULT GAVE US SAMPLES OF FABRICS THAT REFLECT LOCAL AND NATURAL CULTURE.

OUR COLORS ARE THE COLORS OF CAATINGA. CAATINGA CARRIES THE MEDICINE OF A RESILIENT BIOME.

TRADITION AND SUBTLETY OF THE AGRESTE OF PARAIBA ON WHERE LABIRINTO EMBROIBERY MEETS NATURAL DYEING.

LABIRINTO EMBROIBERY

INTANGIBLE HERITAGE OF PARAIBA

In Paraiba, the knowledge of how to make Labirinto was preserved by women in the Agreste Region of the State. Known as a tradition that unites generations, it is a knowledge passed on from mother to daughter in the region.

The Agreste of Paraíba has more than a thousand women who do embroidery, divided into five municipalities, and two quilombola territories.

As a tradition, a source of income and identity, this technique is part of the landscape of farms, towns and small cities. Whenever the sun goes down, on the balconies and sidewalks - conversation, coffee and concentration - the movement of women with their embroibery frames pictures the image of the place along with the fabrics, threads and needles in their hands.

The special technique consists of 4 steps:

1. Unravel the fabric to form a canvas;

2. Fill, with different possible stitches, generating designs that catch the eye, or even, generating a textured weave called "drizzle";

3. Twist, joining all the threads that were unraveled, so that they generate a kind of mesh lace;

4. Filing stich, which consists of a finishing stitch, framing the embroidery.

It is the culture of our land, our soil and our people, which is threatened by a possible ending.

Our mission is also to generate income and autonomy for these women, so that artisanal work can be done in a dignified way.

Knots made on natural fiber fabrics in mesh structure | Promotion of female labor and autonomy.

Since 2020, Morada allies tradition to modernism with unique results.

After design experiments and natural dying process research, our collection was born.

We use visual elements representing Paraíba's territory and culture: wide shaped, confortable, light-weight fabrics and forms.

We believe in a fashion system that promotes balance and positive environmental impact shared to all people involved in production.

Beyond sales: our Social Responsability as a company is to preserve embroidery's continuity by finantially supporting projects that teach young minds to learn and perfect this form or art.
